Can I bring outside food and beverages into the event center?
Our dedicated catering team and staff will do all of the work for you. We do not allow any outside food or beverages to be brought into the facility for events. Please speak with our Event Coordinator about all your food and beverage needs and we will take care of that for you.
Is there a service charge and tax on all items?
Food and beverage items will have a service charge and tax amount added. Currently, the service charge on food and beverage is 21%. Tax is then charged at the current amount of 7%. Audio visual, staging, dance floor, etc. are taxed at the current 7%.
What is due when we sign a contract?
A deposit equaling the total room rental amount is due at the signing of the contract. This is a non-refundable deposit and will be applied to the final bill for your event.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, cashier checks, certified checks, or cash as payment.
When are payments due for events?
Events such as weddings require a full balance due (5) business days before the event. A credit card authorization form must be kept on file with an active credit card to guarantee and final charges from the event.
Can we bring in our own alcoholic beverages and what are your beverage policies?
No, outside alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited and failure to comply could result in the cancellation of the event. Iowa and Federal Law prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages to persons under the age of twenty-one (21). Therefore, guests are required to show proper identification and proof of age when purchasing alcoholic beverages at the Bien VenU Event Center. The number of alcoholic beverages served may be limited to two drinks per person, per purchase. Management reserves the right to refuse service to guests who appear intoxicated or who are disturbing other guests or who are providing beverages to minors. Beer sales are discontinued approximately fifteen (15) minutes before the end of the event. We encourage guests to drink responsibly and not to drive after drinking.
How many people can the venue hold?
While specific capacity will depend on layout and rooms selected, our maximum capacity for the entire event center is 850 guests.
What are your clean up policies?
It is the responsibility of the client to make sure that the event space is kept clean. Please remove all your decorations and other items promptly at the end of the event, unless a separate tear-down time is previously arranged. Cleaning fees will be levied for excessive messes left behind, broken items, and any other damage beyond normal expected use by any and all event guests.
Are we able to get hotel rooms at the Holiday Inn & Suites when holding events at Bien VenU?
Certainly, guest room blocks can be coordinated through your sales manager when booking your event. Guest room blocks are held until (30) days before the event date or until the block is consumed, whichever comes first. On the cutoff date, all reserved rooms will be released to the hotel for general use. Reservations will be accepted thereafter at the current hotel rate based on availability.
Is Bien VenU smoke-free?
Yes, the Holiday Inn & Suites and Bien Venu Event Center are both smoke and vape-free facilities. This includes guest rooms, restaurant, bar, event rooms, all patios, and public spaces.
When do we need to select our menus by?
Final meal selections must be agreed upon (4) weeks prior to the event date to ensure proper product availability. Menu pricing will be set at this time as well. Catering menu pricing is a guide and pricing listed may change based on product availability and market demand.
Are we able to take unused food home with us or to the rooms?
No, to-go boxes, bags or other items to package food up for a late time is not permissible. We ask that all guests enjoy the food and beverage during the planned meal periods.
When is our final guest count due to the Event Coordinator?
Finalized guest count is due (14) days before the event. This is the amount that will be billed and food produced for the event. Failure to provide updated guest numbers will default to the contract guest count when signed.
Where is Bien VenU Event Center located?
Bien VenU Event Center is attached to the Holiday Inn & Suites at 7400 Hudson Road in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Easy access from Highway 20 and minutes away from any destination in the Cedar Valley.
What is included in the venue rental?
The room rental includes the set-up and tear-down of in-house tables, chairs, in-house linens, china, flatware, and glassware. All guests have access to our complimentary Wi-Fi. We also provide all staffing for your event to be stress free. Additional items such as staging, audio/visual, etc. are at an additional cost and be coordinated through the Event Coordinator.
